Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

1. Introduction

VersionOps ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, and organization name
  • Billing Information: Payment details processed securely through Stripe
  • Infrastructure Data: Host information, application versions, and configurations you add to the Service
  • Communications: Support requests and feedback you send us

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: How you interact with the Service
  • Device Information: Browser type, IP address, and operating system
  • Cookies: Session and preference cookies

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process transactions and send billing notifications
  • Send security alerts and version update notifications
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate the Service (e.g., Stripe for payments, cloud hosting providers)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL)
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Regular security audits and monitoring
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Secure password hashing

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent

Self-service: data export and account deletion

If you have a VersionOps account, you can exercise the following rights directly from the application — no email required:

  • Right of access / portability (Art. 15, 20): Settings → Privacy & Data → Download Export generates a ZIP archive of your personal data (profile, organization memberships, hosts and projects in those organizations, audit-log entries you authored, and API token metadata). The archive is UTF-8 JSON — machine-readable and portable.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17): Settings → Privacy & Data → Request Account Deletion sends a confirmation email. After confirmation, your account is scheduled for permanent deletion in 30 days. You can cancel any time before then via the link in the scheduled-deletion email — no login required.

Sole-member organizations

If you are the only member of an organization, deleting your account will permanently delete the organization and all its data (servers, projects, scan history, notification settings, etc.) and cancel the associated subscription. You will see an explicit warning listing the affected organizations before deletion is scheduled.

For step-by-step instructions, see our account management guide.

For other rights (rectification beyond profile fields, restriction, objection), or if you do not have an account, contact us at [email protected].

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in compliance with applicable laws.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

10. Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you signed in
  • Remember your preferences
  • Analyze usage patterns

You can control cookies through your browser settings.

11. Changes to This Policy
